Deacons Ministry: The office of Deacon is Biblical, set by the early church in the book of Acts. We currently have four deacons who were chosen by their qualifications as well as their willingness to serve. Their purpose is to assist the pastor in ministering to the church family. At Grace every family is assigned a Deacon who is there to help them in times of need. Needs may range from visitation, comfort in times of sickness or in death or spiritual counseling. Our deacons and their wives also make up the benevolence committee, whose purpose is to represent the church in helping people in times of financial need.
Sunday School Ministry: (Director: Cary Hensley) One of the most important aspects of our church is Sunday School. The purpose is to “Teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to strengthen individuals and families by encouraging them to study the scriptures, obey the commandments, and keep the associated covenants.” We have teachers who dedicate themselves to study and to living Godly lives. Our classes range from nursery to adult and begin at Sunday morning.
DVD and CD ministry: This ministry is here to meet the spiritual needs of those who are cannot attend. Sunday mornings and special events are recorded to DVD, and Sunday and Wednesday nights are recorded to CD.
Also available at our sound booth are personal monitors for the hearing impaired which can be used to help listen to the services.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Music Director: Josh Collins
The music of Grace consists of a variety of styles; traditional hymns, praise and worship, southern gospel and contemporary. We use sound tracks as well as instruments. Our goal is to lift up the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ through song. We have an adult choir, children’s choir, interpretive sign language teams, and a praise band. We also encourage participation in specials, whether individually or in a group. All participates are volunteers, so anyone wishing to worship in song is encouraged to join us. The adult choir practices every Sunday and Wednesday night.
Interpretive Sign Language Teams
Leader: Crystal Gouge
We have two sign teams: one for teenagers, the other for ladies. The sign teams express worship by signing to song. Though silent, this is a very effective and expressive form of worship. All who participate are volunteers, so anyone interested is encouraged to join in.
Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Youth Director: Paul Robertson
We have a very active youth group. We offer a wide variety of times and events for our youth to fellowship and worship. They have activities once a month through out the year including Youth Camp, VBS, concerts, camping, and sporting events all of which have Bible study before or during the event.
The nursery is available for children 0-2 years of age. Our staff of nursery workers are volunteers who love children. We want you to feel confident in the safety of your children while you enjoy worship service.
